Import CSV file into Thunderbird - how it works
With the help of CSV files, you can exchange data structures such as address books. This article shows you how to import these files into Thunderbird.
Thunderbird 24: Import CSV files
Thunderbird can inherently import data records such as address books, messages or settings - including in CSV file format.
- To do this, open the application menu at the top right and go to "Tools"> "'Import".
- In the wizard, select "Address books" and click "Next".
- Now you have to select the entry "Text file (LDIF, .tab, .csv, .txt)" in the selection window and then click on "Next". Now search for your CSV file in the file explorer.
- After opening the document, you can adjust the attributes. Since there is no standard formatting for CSV files, the attributes can differ from the structure in Thunderbird.
Of course, the whole thing works the other way around: We will show you in another practical tip how to create your own CSV file with Excel.
