With the right key combinations you can save a lot of time. For the most important shortcuts use the [CTRL] key - on the German keyboard this is [Ctrl].
The most important CTRL combinations:
If you are using a German keyboard, press the [Ctrl] key instead of [CTRL]. The combinations are identical.
- [CTRL] and [C]: With this combination you can copy all selected elements, for example a text. This is now cached.
- [CTRL] and [V]: This inserts the copied elements from the clipboard.
- [CTRL] and [X]: This combination cuts out all selected elements.
- [CTRL] and [Z]: With this key combination you can undo the last change, for example deleting a paragraph in Word.
- [CTRL] and [Y]: This allows undone actions to be redone.
- [CTRL] and [P]: With this combination you print out the opened web page or the Word document.
- [CTRL] and [N]: This opens a new document.
- [CTRL] and [O]: You can use this function to open an existing file.
- [CTRL] and [S]: The key combination saves the currently open file.
- [CTRL] and [F4]: This closes the open program. If none is open, the computer is shut down.
- [CTRL] and [A]: Marks all elements, for example to change the formatting of a complete text.
- [CTRL] and [1]: Changes the line spacing of the selected text to "simple line spacing".
- [CTRL] and [2]: Change the line spacing to "Double line spacing".
- [CTRL] and [5]: One and a half times the line spacing of a selected text.
- [CTRL] and [F]: Opens the search function of most programs.
Combinations of CTRL and Shift keys
For the following shortcuts press the CTRL together with the Shift or Shift key (on some keyboards this is also symbolized by an arrow up ⇑). The following keyboard shortcuts are particularly useful in Word:
- [CTRL] and [Shift] and [F]: Changes the font style of a selected text to "Bold".
- [CTRL] and [Shift] and [K]: Changes the font style to "Italic".
- [CTRL] and [Shift] and [U]: Underlines a selected text.
- [CTRL] and [Shift] and [H]: Opens the "Find and replace" menu - here you can then search for a specific term in your document and have it replaced.
