Cube World: create servers - how it works
To play Cube World with your friends, you need to create your own multiplayer server. You can set it up in three different ways:
Play Cube World over Hamachi
If you have never set up your own server, the best way to play Cube World is through Hamachi. In another practical tip, we explain how to set up a Hamachi server for Cube World.
Set up multiplayer server by port sharing
You can also create your server using a port release in the router. This variant is aimed at advanced users who do not want to use additional software.
- Start the file "Server.exe" from the installation directory. At Cube World this is by default in the path "C: \ Program Files \ Cube World \".
- Go to your router's configuration page. It differs depending on the device. Common addresses, however, are "192.168.178.1", "speedport.ip" and "fritz.box".
- Now create a port release for port "12345" using the TCP protocol. In another practical tip, we will show you how to enable the new ports.
- Now copy your IP address and share it with your friends. So you can connect to the server in Cube World.
- If you do not have a static IP, your address changes every 24 hours. Either you tell your teammates the new IP if necessary or you set up a static IP address.
Play Cube World on a dedicated server
If you have a dedicated server or a vServer available, this is the ideal solution. To do this, copy some files to the server to start it.
- First of all, go to your own server.
- Copy the files "Server.exe", "msvcp110.dll", "msvcr110.dll" and "zlib1.dll" to your server.
- Start the "Server.exe".
- Finally, tell your fellow players your IP address so that they can connect via Cube World.
Now you can really get started and explore the different biomes of Cube World.
