Cuphead: How to beat the boss in the casino
Cuphead fans regularly despair of the seemingly overpowering boss in the casino. But don't give up hope, because there is a way - it starts with the right preparation. In the following article we give you tips to finally get King Dice down.
For preparation
Cuphead is one of the most difficult games that have appeared in recent years. The number of controllers destroyed can be compared to that of the "Dark Souls" series. Below we explain what you have to do to properly heat the cube head and finally defeat it. Let's start with the preparation for the level.
- The fight against the dice has its pitfalls. It is possible that you will have to face up to nine of his subordinates before you can see the manager of the casino.
- For this reason, you should equip the best weapons, powers, and other aids. You can get them from the dealer Porkrind - luckily you should already have collected some coins at this point in the game. If you still lack a little change, you should go once again in the levels to look for the hidden coins.
- With regard to weapons, we recommend a combination of the "Peashooter" and "Charge". If you have trouble getting clean hits with the "Peashooter", you should replace it with the "Chaser" weapon. With this equipment it is generally easiest to compete against King Dice, but of course you are free to try out your favorite combination.
- The best "Supers" for combat are the "Energy Beam" or the "Giant Ghost". The "Invincibility" ability is more recommended in the jump-n-shoot part of the game and less for boss fights. To earn them, you have to face the challenges in the mausoleums in the first three worlds.
- You should make "charms" dependent on your own strengths and weaknesses and compensate for the latter accordingly. If you have problems parrying, you should choose the sugar. If, on the other hand, you have this ability, the coffee is a good choice, as it constantly fills up your super display. However, if you tend to go fast in the game, you should probably take the "Twin Hearts" into the fight.
Happiness is (almost) everything
The fight against the devil's henchman is not only one of the hardest in the game, but also one of the most unique. The prerequisite for your confrontation against the cube head is that you make it on a kind of game board up to the field "FIN". If you land on one of the numbers, you must first defeat one of King Dice's nine subordinates before you can roll the die again. "SAFE" fields offer you the option of not having to compete against any of the mini-bosses for the time being. However, this will not always be the case, because you must have defeated at least three to fight the manager. Unfortunately there is also a "START OVER" field, after which you literally have to start over.
- It is possible to influence the die: depending on how often you hit it, you can choose your opponents. It will take some time to figure out the rhythm, but it will be worth it.
- We recommend committing yourself to three opponents after a while and memorizing their attack patterns. Mr. Wheezy (No. 3) and Mangosteen (No. 8) are comparatively easy.
- With a little practice and skill, you will eventually be able to face King Dice with (almost) full health.
The fight against King Dice
After all the trouble, you are now facing the devil's right hand. Theoretically, the challenge may seem easy at first, since the manager only has one attack: If it hits you fully, the fight is quickly over. Ultimately, it is important to have the necessary perseverance and not to lose focus.
- As mentioned, King Dice only has one attack, which does a lot of damage and is especially fatal to players who are not very good at parrying.
- Several playing cards run from the hand of the die head towards Cuphead and Mugman. You can either entrench yourself behind the manager's hand or jump over the playing cards and parry the pink cards - if you don't want to start over.
- If you have less confidence in your ability to parry in time, you should choose the "Charm" sugar as described above.
- As you move from side to side between attacks, your primary focus should be on the boss's head.
- If you hold out, the cube head will soon be done. Also practical is the explanation of the YouTuber "Help Me. I'm Stuck", which illustrates the last part again in his video.
