Cushioning: that's behind the dating trend
The dating trend cushioning does not make the search for the dream man or dream woman easier. We will explain to you what behavior is behind the term.
Dating trend cushioning: a "cushioned" relationship
Translate "cushioning" from English into German, the word "padding" actually sounds harmless. In the context of relationships, however, upholstery is anything but harmless or even positive.
- What is meant by cushioning is that one of the two partners has a "cushion" ready in case the relationship doesn't work. So other partners are dated in addition to the actual partner.
- The basic idea behind this procedure is very simple, if not fair: if one of the relationships breaks, a replacement can be used directly. This is an attempt to avoid loneliness.
- In cushioning, both sides are actually losers: a real relationship is not possible because a part does not get involved 100 percent - the possibility of failure is part of the deal.
- If a partner enters into a relationship in which he already inserts a cushion as insurance, this partner is never really in the respective relationship. A healthy relationship requires honesty and trust as a foundation, as well as the entire presence of the other person.
