Forgot D-Link Router IP - what to do?
If you want to configure your D-Link router, you need its IP address. If you have misplaced the router's instructions, we will reveal the IP address here and help you if it does not work.
Find out the IP address of the D-Link router
- By default, the IP address of D-Link routers is: 192.168.0.1
- Enter this instead of a URL in the link field of your browser and click on the Enter key. You should now be able to access your router.
- If this is wrong, look at the bottom of the router. There is usually a sticker here with information about the router. Usually also the IP address.
- If you had previously changed the IP address of the router and have now forgotten it, you can reset the router to the factory settings. Most devices have a reset button in the housing next to the power connector. Open a paper clip and press it into the hole provided for 10 seconds. Now you can reach the router at the IP address specified above.
Alternative with active LAN or WLAN connection
If you are still in a network (LAN or WLAN), you can alternatively also determine the standard gateway, which is usually also the IP address of your router:
- Open the Windows start menu, type "cmd.exe" (= Windows command prompt) in the search field and click on the search result.
- In the opened command prompt type in "ipconfig" and confirm with Enter.
- Under "Ethernet adapter LAN connection" or "Wireless adapter" you will now find the item "Standard gateway". This is usually your router's IP address.
