Daemon Tools tutorial
- Install the latest version of Daemon Tools. The lite version is available for free download from CHIP Online.
- During the installation, the program automatically sets up a new virtual drive on your PC.
- Start Daemon Tools. In the main menu your virtual drive is shown at the bottom of the screen, above you can see your images.
- You can add new images using the plus symbol on the left. The formats MDS, MDX, B5T, B6T, BWT, CCD, CUE, ISZ, NRG, CDI, ISO, APE and FLAC are supported.
- You can integrate a second drive using the "Add virtual DT drive" or "Add virtual SCSI drive" option.
- Right-click to remove individual drives or adjust their options. For example, you can change the drive letter.
- To create an image from a drive, select the "Image creation" option. Then you can select the drive, the reading speed and the destination folder.
The most important tips about Daemon Tools
- Select the custom installation to deselect additional programs and toolbars that would otherwise be installed automatically.
- By right-clicking on a virtual drive, you can change the manufacturer and model in addition to the drive letter in the properties.
- Activate the "Check for updates" option in the Daemon Tools settings so that the program can automatically check for updates.
- Under the "Shortcut" item you can define shortcuts for ejecting images or integrating them into the first drive.
