Dark Souls 3: Character classes at a glance
In Dark Souls 3 you can choose from ten different character classes for your hero. We give you an overview of the possibilities.
Dark Souls 3: Overview of classes
No matter which class you choose, Dark Souls 3 will always present you with enormous challenges. With some, getting started is a little easier than with others.
- The classic knight fights with a sword and shield and withstands good armor and a few life points right from the start. The knight pays with a very low luck that he can strike very hard.
- Mercenaries are a demanding melee class with a focus on skill. That makes him more flexible than the knight, for example. With its light armor, it is only moderately resistant.
- The warrior is completely specialized in direct melee combat. He has more health and strength than the knight, but not quite as thick armor. He can't do anything with magic - but he's lucky.
- The herald is also a melee with his spear, but has distributed his values more evenly and, above all, can use his high faith to heal himself.
- Thieves are neither particularly resistant, nor strong in direct combat. With them you have to combine melee and ranged combat and try to catch your enemies in the back. The high level of skill helps you. In general, however, this class is more suitable for advanced students. But you will be rewarded with the highest luck value in the game and thus with many good treasures.
- The Assassin is good for you if you like to mix magic and melee and prefer to dodge rather than take it. The class does not endure much, but is very elegant due to its skill and high magic value.
- As a magician, you do just that: magic. Both relevant values - intelligence and of course magic - are outstanding and happiness is also impressive. The melee values in particular are bad, so you have to be very careful. This class can be correspondingly difficult.
- The pyromancer is a kind of combination of warrior and magician and can do a little bit of everything without paying too much attention to its defense. If you do not like armor and are otherwise unable to make a decision, this class is for you.
- The cleric lives up to his reputation and impresses with an excellent credibility, supplemented by a lot of magic and luck as well as some strength and vitality. It is the counterpart to the Pyromancer: It combines magic and weapons with a greater focus on defense and healing.
- Finally, there is the beggar for Dark Souls veterans. This starts at level 1 with all values at 10 and is extremely poorly equipped. Its advantage: you can design it freely if you manage to train it.
