Setting darkmode in iOS 11: how it works
With iOS 11, Apple presents many new features for the iPhone, among other things, the dark mode can now be set. What many iPhone fans had already hoped for in iOS 10, Apple is finally realizing with iOS 11.
How to set the dark mode in iOS 11
You don't have to do much to turn on dark mode in iOS 11, although Apple has hidden the feature a bit.
- First go to "Settings" and select "General".
- Then choose the "Accessibility" option and the "Display customization" option.
- After tapping "Reverse Color" you have finally reached the Darkmode feature.
- In the "Reverse Color" menu, you will see the Smart Invert option in addition to the Classic Invert option. The Smart Invert ensures that some elements are inverted while others retain their colors, such as the navigation buttons or photos.
- As soon as you have activated the Smart Invert, your iPhone is in dark mode, which is an advantage especially in the evening or in dim light.
- Conclusion: Overall, the dark mode looks quite good for most apps on the iPhone, but there is also a significant weak point. Apple will probably have to make some noticeable improvements to the home screen.
