Find the strongest Pokemon: calculate IV value - how it works
Pokemon Go's goal is to find and catch the strongest Pokemon. This practical tip shows you how to calculate the IV value for your Pokemon.
Find the strongest Pokemon using the IV value
The strength of a Pokemon depends on several factors:
- Before you start training Pokémon caught, you should first increase your trainer level.
- The higher your trainer level, the stronger the Pokemon you catch.
- Stronger Pokemon need less star dust to level and their strength can be better determined with the so-called IV value.
- For a Pokemon of the same kind, the Attack, Defense and Stamina values are always the same. Only the IV value (individual value) differs.
Calculate IV values for the strongest Pokemon
With the help of the individual value, you can determine how strong your Pokemon can later become. To calculate this, you have to do the following:
- First open the IV calculator from our side.
- First enter the name of the Pokemon you just caught and not yet reinforced under "Pokemon".
- Then you must enter the WP value for "CP".
- You must now enter the KP value of your Pokemon in the "HP" field.
- Then select under "Dust" how much stardust is required for the next development and enter "No" in "Powered".
- Clicking on "Find IVs" will now show you the maximum and minimum values in percent that your Pokemon can reach.
- Below 80% maximum, further leveling of the Pokemon is usually not worthwhile.
- To narrow the range between the minimum and maximum value, you have to level your Pokemon once and then enter the new values again.
- Now enter "Yes" under "Powered" and click on "Refine".
