Read files in RAM
If you want to read files in the RAM, this is not impossible, but extremely difficult. We'll show you how it's done.
Read files in RAM
- The working memory secures files and documents as long as they are in use. If a program is no longer executed or a file is no longer processed, it flies out of the main memory.
- As a layperson, the RAM is usually not accessible, but you will still find files in a folder under Windows that are currently being used in the RAM. You can also restore lost files. More on this in the next paragraph.
- You can also access the RAM in the browser. All actions and files are cached. You can access this via the URL bar of your browser. To do this, type in the "about: cache" command.
Read RAM in Windows
You cannot access the entire RAM directly, but Windows visibly stores some files in a hidden folder.
- Simultaneously press the [Windows] + [R] keys so that the "Execute" command opens. Enter "% appdata%" here and confirm with "OK".
- In the "Local", "LocalLow" and "Roaming" folders, you can find, among other things, the files currently used by individual programs. For example, unsaved Word documents are stored here.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to empty your working memory under Windows.
