If you use the iOS 11 or higher operating system on both your old iOS device and the new iPhone, you can now transfer your data particularly easily. If one of the two devices uses an older iOS version, read on in the next paragraph.
- Pick up the new iPhone and turn it on. If you place your old iPhone or iPad right next to it, the quick start function is displayed on the new device.
- If this is not the case, place the two devices on top of each other. If you see the correct Apple ID, tap Continue. If you cannot use the option, switch on Bluetooth on the old device.
- The camera is activated on the old device. Hold the device over the new device to scan the animation on the new device. Without a camera, you can use the "Authenticate manually" option.
- Log in to your Apple ID and follow the instructions. You can then choose which data you want to take from the last iCloud backup.
- It may take a few minutes for all the data to be on the new iPhone. Always leave the two devices next to each other during the entire process.
