Solve DDL problems - how it works
It is probably one of the most annoying error messages ever: "DLL could not be found." To solve the problems and make the program roadworthy again, you have to find the right spare parts. We explain here where it works and how to install the missing part.
Solve DLL Problems - There is a way
A DLL problem mostly arises when a library is overwritten or completely removed. The program can then no longer be executed or hangs up at certain points and aborts with an error message. This error message is your key to resolving the problem.
- Write out the name of the DLL (it appears in the error description).
- If you have the CD / DVD on which the program is located, look for the DLL in it. If you no longer have the CD / DVD, enter the name in a search engine or here. Then download the DLL.
- Now either move the file into the program directory or into the folder C: \ Windows \ System32.
- Start the program again. If the error persists, use the step in the following section.
Register the DLL in the operating system
You may have to register the DLL before you can use Windows. Proceed as follows:
- Click "Start" and enter "Run" in "Search programs and files". (Or alternatively press the key combination "Windows + R")
- Start "Run" and at "Open:" enter the command "regsvr32 / i" (replace "name of the DLL" with the correct DLL name).
- With "Enter" the file is registered in the operating system and can be used. If you start the program now, it should run without errors again.
The practical tip refers to "Windows 7" from Microsoft. You can remove unnecessary DLLs with this program.
