Deathmatch: what is it? Easily explained
In almost all shooters there are recurring game modes. In this practical tip, we explain what a death match is. In addition to the Deathmatch, Capture The Flag and other matches with team tasks are also very common.
Game Modes: What is Deathmatch?
The Deathmatch is one of the most popular game modes that can be found in almost all turn-based multiplayer shooters.
- In this mode, two teams usually fight against each other. The goal is to get the most kills in one round. If a player shoots an opposing player, this "kill" is counted as a point / kill for the respective team.
- A round is limited either by a timer (round duration in minutes) or by a counter that counts the kills. The team that scores the most kills in time or is the first to hit a certain number of kills wins the round.
- The Deathmatch is especially popular because you don't necessarily have to rely on your team and you can play alone. In addition, you don't need any previous knowledge of game mechanics for the Deathmatch, which makes it particularly easy for beginners.
- Compared to other game modes, the game speed is still higher on average, since no goals other than the kills need to be pursued.
