Deezer vs Spotify - Streaming services compared
There are many providers when it comes to choosing music streaming. In our practical tip we leave Deezer vs. Compete against each other and show you the most important differences.
Deezer vs. Spotify: The Differences in Streaming Services
Both Deezer and Spotify offer their customers several million songs. You can listen to them either for free with advertising or for an unlimited monthly fee. We will explain the differences between the two streaming services.
- Variety of music: When it comes to music, the streaming giant Spotify is ahead. Spotfiy offers a consistently good mix of different music styles and even has many lesser known artists in the repertoire. Deezer, on the other hand, is more oriented towards charts and pop and therefore places the top 20 very prominently. Those who listen to a lot of music from the charts are in good hands with Deezer.
- Price: Deezer and Spotify do not differ in price. Both services offer your premium access for 9.99 euros per month (as of August 2015). This allows you unlimited access to the entire range of music. With premium access, you can also save music offline and listen comfortably on the go without burdening your data volume.
- Tariffs: In contrast to Deezer, Spotify also offers some other tariffs. The Family tariff grants users a group discount, with which you can get up to 50 percent cheaper per month. You can also get a student discount for EUR 4.99 a month. There are no such offers at Deezer so far.
- Free features: Both providers also offer free access. Here, however, the music is regularly interrupted by advertising. In addition, the music is played in lower quality. A 30-day test phase allows you to try out the premium offer for free with both providers.
- Distribution: Both Deezer and Spotify offer you many different apps so that you can use the music offer on all your devices if possible. Both providers have apps for smartphones, tablets, hi-fi systems and even some smart TVs in their repertoire. Overall, Spotify supports significantly more devices than Deezer.
- Free mobile: Both providers have limited use of the app for users without premium access. The Spotify app for smartphones allows you as a free user to listen to playlists only in random mode. At Deezer, on the other hand, you are only offered a radio that is personalized for you.
- Maximum number of devices: You should also note that you can only log in to Deezer with your account on three devices. There is no such limitation with Spotify. However, you are not allowed to listen to music from two devices simultaneously on the same account with both providers. In another practical tip, we will show you how you can listen to music with Spotify on several devices at the same time.
Deezer vs. Spotify: The bottom line
Spotify is the market leader in music streaming. This can also be seen in comparison to Deezer. A larger range of music, cheaper tariff offers and numerous supported devices make Spotify's offer significantly more attractive. However, since both providers offer a 30-day test phase of the premium offer, it is best to try both providers first. Then you can decide which app says more to you.
