If you want to descale your DeLonghi Primadonna coffee machine, it's not difficult. To do this, use the fully automatic coffee machine menu. This practical tip shows you what you need to descale and how to do it.
Descale DeLonghi Primadonna - it's that easy
The DeLonghi prima donna indicates when you should descale the coffee machine. The measure serves, among other things, to extend the life of the coffee machine.
- Switch the machine on to descale the fully automatic machine. Then call up the menu. Depending on the model, press the menu key or the "P" key. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Descaling" item.
- Once there, press "OK". The coffee machine asks again on the display whether you want to start the descaling program. If you confirm this request with "OK", you will be asked to fill in the descaler.
- If necessary, dilute the descaling agent according to the manufacturer's instructions. Fill it into the empty water tank. If you use a water filter, remove it beforehand.
- Place a large saucepan under the hot water spout. The container must be able to hold at least one and a half liters. The descaling process is started by pressing "OK". On some models, this is also shown on the display.
- It takes about half an hour for the descaling agent to go through. The coffee machine then prompts you to fill the water tank with water. Rinse the water tank thoroughly beforehand. If you use a water filter, you can now use it again.
- If you empty the pot under the hot water spout and press "OK" again, the lines will be rinsed out after descaling.
- As soon as the water tank is empty, this part of the descaling process is completed and you will receive a corresponding message on the display. Now you only have to confirm with "OK". You can then use your DeLonghi prima donna as usual.
