Diablo 3: Barbarian Class Guide
In this barbarian guide from Diablo 3, we show you what you can do with the strong melee and how he distances himself from the other classes.
Basic characteristics of the barbarian
- The barbarian from Diablo 3 has one primary resource: anger. He builds these up either through angry attacks or through special skill points that allow him to passively generate anger.
- In addition to angry attacks, the barbarian can use a variety of anger-consuming abilities. Some attacks consume more anger than others. However, with the appropriate runes in an ability, it is also possible to generate anger with an angry consumer.
- With a barbarian you mainly go for strength and vitality. They can endure a lot, but not nearly as much as a crusader when he plays completely on thorn damage and vitality. As a barbarian, you can play as an off-tank, but in a way you reduce your damage potential. In addition, in Diablo 3 it is rather nonsensical to have a clean tank, as this means that far too much damage potential is lost. Of course, you can put together several sets for your barbarian and change them depending on the situation.
The barbarian's rage
Indispensable for a group: the bonuses of a barbarian rage. Similar to the monks' mantras in Diablo 3, you can use the battle cries to immensely strengthen and support your group.
- Doom Shout: Doom Shout allows you to reduce the attack strength of enemies within 25 yards by 20% for 15 seconds.
- Battle cry: The battle cry only boosts yourself. You get a 10% attack boost for 2 minutes and the scream increases your critical strike chance by 3%.
- War cry: The war cry is especially good in a group. It gives you and your allies 20% more armor for 2 minutes.
You can use these weapons
Depending on the weapon you are using, you can get a variety of different bonuses when you activate a passive trait.
- There are actually no limits to your choice of weapon. Merely weapons specially created for other classes, such as mojos or wands, cannot be used as a barbarian.
- Of course, each weapon type has advantages and disadvantages, which you have to weigh depending on the situation. If, for example, you are going to use abilities that scale with weapon damage rather than normal attacks, you should consider whether a two-handed weapon might make more sense. A good example of this is the Whirlwind ability, which, combined with the "Wrath of the Wasteland" set, can be a real massacre for your opponents. Since you always turn around and do not perform single attacks on the opponents in close combat, a two-handed weapon with more damage could not be that bad.
- Always choose your weapons for the set you are carrying and think about which weapon type makes more sense for the set bonus.
