The wizard as a class can of course also be found in Diablo 3. We are therefore presenting a class guide to help you get started in this class. Alongside warriors, magicians are a frequently chosen class in MMORPGs and role-playing games. They are very versatile and can usually be used defensively as supporters or as pure damage dealers.
General information about the magician in Diablo 3
The wizard in Diablo 3 isn't exactly the fastest runner. He has to be careful not to die all the time, especially because of the higher levels of difficulty, because the bosses and champion opponents have caught up with him to kill him. But the magician wouldn't be a magician if he couldn't defend himself with some of the most powerful spells and skills in the entire game.
- The power of the elements and the high damage at a distance may be one of the reasons why the magician is so popular in role-playing games, but never forget: he is also prone to damage.
The magician and his attributes
Attack speed is one of the most important attributes of the wizard. This increases the speed and thus the number of your magical projectiles that you hurl at the enemy. This is particularly important for higher difficulty levels, because you have to "kite" the opponents there, so again and again: run, shoot, run, shoot.
- Intelligence is in second place. You have to increase this so that your wizard deals enough damage and immediately develops a little more resistance.
- So that your character doesn't fall over during insect bites, you should keep an eye on the vitality and always level it a little.
Priorities in the overview
Here are the priorities again:
- Attack Speed: This increases the number of attacks per second.
- Intelligence: Increases spell damage and increases all resistances by 0.1%.
- Vitality: Increases life points.
- Other: You should increase critical strike chance and critical damage by 1:10 as secondary attributes on armor and weapons to increase your magician's damage again and land critical hits more often.
Resource: Arcane Power
Arcane power is the wizard's resource. Through them you can cast powerful spells and even let meteors rain from the sky or conjure up a blizzard.
- You should therefore always keep an eye on your arcane power while playing so that you can still escape by teleportation in difficult situations.
The wizard's weapons
The wizard is spoiled for choice when it comes to weapons in Diablo 3 because he can use them all. Regardless of whether it is a crossbow or a giant two-handed sword, what you decide on doesn't ultimately matter, but only the values on the weapon are the decisive factor.
- Make sure that your weapon always has a high "damage per second" value: the higher the weapon damage, the higher the damage to your abilities.
- Even if you can use all weapons, it is inevitable in the later course of the game that you use one-handed sticks with focus or two-handed sticks. Only those grant you additional intelligence or arcane power, for example, which you absolutely need to pass higher levels of difficulty.
Play alone
In the difficulties of normal and nightmare, you don't have to pay too much attention to your skill level, but if it's hell or inferno, you have to plan every single skill slot very carefully.
The solo magician in hell and inferno
On the higher levels of difficulty you absolutely need the skill "Diamond skin" with the rune "Crystal shell" and the "Energy armor" including "Life armor", so that you do not bless the time after a stroke. Since the rune does not absorb everything, you also need enough life points.
- Her main attack skill is the "Arcane Orb" paired with the "Tap Energy" rune. It is important that you have to move constantly - this is where the attack speed comes into play: move, fire your projectiles and move again.
- The second attack skill is the "magic bullet" with built-in "overloaded strike" rune. This will increase your weapon damage by 143%. You should also use "Magical Weapons" along with the "Mighty Weapon" rune to increase your damage by an additional 15% and give you a 2% chance to knock back enemies.
- To retreat, take "teleportation" with the "fracture" rune. If you selected the Illusionist passive skill, leave two mirror images. Very useful to get some air.
Kiting, kiting, kiting ... and don't get caught!
The principle of the game that you have to follow solo is "kiting". Avoid hand-to-hand combat, keep your opponent at a distance and wear them down with your powerful ranged spells to escape from dangerous situations with teleportation or diamond skin to attack again.
Passive skills
In addition to "illusionist", take "glass cannon" with you to increase the damage. This lowers the resistance, which can be overcome with "life armor". In addition, you add "Astral Presence" to keep your mana pool full longer.
Play in a group
If you are traveling in a group, you do not actually need "teleportation". Instead, take a "confidant" with you and the rune "flying sparks". The passive ability "Illusionist" is now also superfluous. Exchange them for "Arcane Dynamo". This creates a buff and stacks "Arcane Orb". So you can attack 5x Arcane Bullet, 1x Arcane Ball again and again in the pattern.
$config[ads_text6] not found- For the later game you should choose from one of the two prominent builds: "Archon" lets you deal massive damage; "Critical Mass Perma Freeze" freezes your opponents permanently.
