At every corner in "GTA 5" you will find allusions and Easter Eggs. We have collected the 10 best allusions for you. "Saints Row", "No Country For Old Men" and even "Gangnam Style" are parodyed.
10. Passers-by talk about "Saints Row"
Probably the biggest opponent of the "Grand Theft Auto" series is "Saints Row". Every now and then you can hear passers-by saying they don't predict a rosy future for the competitor product: "City of saints gonna struggle, Los Santos ain't in no trouble".
9. Allusions to "Red Dead Redemption"
There are several allusions to "GTA 5" about the own open world western from "Rockstar Games":
- On Franklin's bookcase is a book called "Red Dead" by the author "J. Marston". Jack Marston is a "Red Dead Redemption" character who said in the game that he will write a book about the Wild West.
- Two place names appear modified in both rock star titles: "Armadillo Ave" and "Cholla Springs Ave" from "GTA 5" are similar to the "Red Dead Redemption" places "Armadillo Town" and "Cholla Springs".
- The "Mt. Gordo" takes its name from the legendary "Red Dead Redemption" animal "Gordo the wild boar".
- In some commercials such as the beer brewer "Pisswasser" and films, original locations from "Red Dead Redemption" appear.
8. Jacket from the film "Drive"
The scorpion jacket from the nameless "Driver" from the movie of the same name that was released in Germany in January 2012 can be found parody in the "Discount Clothing Store" in "Grapeseed". Instead of the scorpion, a crab adorns the back.
7. Anthony "Tony" Soprano's house
The architect of Michael's house in "GTA 5" apparently watched the mafia television series "The Sopranos" regularly. The house looks very much like the main character's mansion, Anthony "Tony" Soprano.
6. Kwack invented the "Gangnam Style"
The "Gangnam Style" by the South Korean Psy was invented in "Los Santos" by the South Korean singer "Kwack". You will find out when you buy the taxi company "Downtown Cab Co" and transport the singer. He complains that he is wrongly called "Quack" even though he has made millions with his jockey-like dance.
5. Note on the next "Rockstar" title
The "Dewbauchee JB 700" that you drive in a mission has the license plate "463NT". Deciphered that means "agent". This is the name of the next game from "Rockstar Games". It therefore quickly becomes clear that "JB 700" refers to the secret agent James Bond ("007") and that the car is an imitation of the Aston Martin from "Goldfinger".
4. Jesus rose again
At the "Del Perro Pier" of "Los Santos" there is a man named Jesse, who is also similar to Jesus beyond clothing. He speaks of a "Father", the love for all people and mentions things from the Old Testament.
3. Beginning scene from "No Country For Old Men"
A chance event near the military base is the failed drug deal from the Oscar-winning "No Country For Old Men". You can walk between the dead and dying dealers and take a closer look at the scene. However, it is more useful to simply steal the briefcase filled with money.
2. "LifeInvader" - the Facebook copy
In the "Friendship Request" mission, you penetrate the social media company "LifeInvader", which is obviously the Facebook of "Los Santos". At the end of the mission, the chief of LifeInvader, the young genius "Jay Norris", is killed. This also has some visual parallels with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
