The 3 best steering wheels for the PS4
With the right steering wheels for the PS4, racing games like Project Cars or Drive Club are much more fun. The games become more realistic and the cars are more comfortable to drive than with the keyboard or a gamepad. Here we present the best steering wheels in three price regions.
1. PlayStation 4 steering wheel - performance tip: Logitech G29
The Logitech G29 offers many features, but with its very high price it is aimed more at demanding racing game enthusiasts.
- In the G29, the force feedback is controlled by two motors. In this way, all external influences are realistically simulated and drifting or getting off the track is clearly noticeable.
- The workmanship is particularly high quality and partly consists of genuine leather and stainless steel.
- An LED display above the center of the steering wheel shows the engine speed. So you can see at a glance when you need to shift up and down.
- As with real cars, the steering range of the G29 is 900 degrees. This allows the vehicle to be controlled very precisely.
- If you prefer an H circuit, you need a driving force shifter. This costs 60 euros extra.
- In addition to the accelerator and brake pedals, there is also a clutch that you have to pedal when shifting. You can of course also deactivate this function.
- The Logitech G29 will be released in July 2015 and costs 399 euros.
2. PlayStation 4 steering wheel - performance tip: Thrustmaster T300 RS
The Thrustmaster T300 RS is the best alternative to the G29.
- A big advantage of the T300 RS is the interchangeable handlebar. You can buy addons like the Leather 28 GT Wheel and put them on the base.
- You can adjust the steering angle between 270 and 1080 degrees. The maximum steering angle is even larger than that of the G29.
- Compared to the G29, the T300 RS has no pedal for the clutch. After all, the other two pedals are made of high quality metal.
- The Force Feedback works just as well as that of the G29. You will immediately notice when the soil changes.
- With 13 action buttons, you will find slightly fewer buttons on this steering wheel than on the G29.
- The T300 RS is available for example from Amazon and costs 369 euros.
3. PlayStation 4 steering wheel Price tip: Thrustmaster T80
The much cheaper alternative is the Trustmaster T80. Here you also have to do without some features.
- The biggest disadvantage compared to the more expensive competition is the lack of force feedback. Apart from the visual appearance, you will not receive any feedback if your vehicle breaks out.
- For the price, you also have to cut back on processing. Instead of metal and leather, you will find plastic here.
- The control, however, is on the same level as that of the expensive competition and accordingly precise.
- Visually, the T80 is similar to the T300 RS and has almost as many buttons.
- The T80 currently costs 90 euros and is also available from Amazon.
So that you crack every highscore of your racing games, you can change the buttons of the PS4 controller or the Kenkrad. You can find out everything you need to know about PS4 hardware here.
