The Sims 4: toddlers - that's what the update entails
The base game "The Sims 4" initially appeared without the toddlers. To the delight of all fans, the toddlers were integrated into "The Sims 4" in January 2017. In this practical tip, we will show you what options this offers you as a player.
Toddlers - where you can find them in "The Sims 4"
Each toddler has their own caregiver, who takes special care of the child's well-being. In "The Sims 4" you can bring toddlers into the game in three different ways. We show you how it works:
- You can create toddlers directly in create mode. Simply select the toddler with the ball on the left.
- When babies age in the game, they no longer become children, but initially receive the "toddler" level.
- Toddlers can also be adopted in "The Sims 4". This is achieved through adoption on the PC.
The Sims 4: Features make toddlers more individual
So that the toddlers differ from each other, there are now features in "The Sims 4" that make the little ones more individual. There are eight characteristics to choose from.
- Silly: toddlers with this feature are playful and always have one or two jokes in store. The silly trait is helpful to build the imagination ability.
- Affectionate: These toddlers would always prefer to be with their parents. They get special rewards when someone teaches them something.
- Charmer: If you choose this feature, the toddlers communicate more. They prefer to talk to strangers. The charmer feature also helps when it comes to communication skills.
- Angelic: If you want simple and easy-going toddlers for your Sims, then you should choose this feature. The toddlers are good and follow the instructions of the other Sims.
- Tricky: This characteristic is exactly the opposite of "angelic", because you are dealing with small cheeky badgers. The Sims toddlers often have tantrums and can only be appeased with sufficient attention.
- Curious: If you choose this feature, the toddlers want to learn a lot. You have to challenge them, otherwise these toddlers will quickly become sad. However, this feature can be helpful in thinking.
- Independent: These toddlers do not want to be mothered. It is important to them to explore and learn everything on their own. You need less attention than other Sims.
- Wild: With this feature, toddlers prefer to be outdoors and move around. They build up their mobility more quickly and are often full of energy.
The toddlers can develop these skills in "The Sims 4"
There are five different skills that toddlers can develop as they develop. We present the skills to you in detail:
- Movement: In five levels, the children learn to walk, which they achieve by walking around, but also with stacking blocks. This ability can also be trained by wrestling with adults or by dancing.
- Think: After level four, this ability can be expanded. It expands, for example, when the toddlers play with the tablet or the flash cards and the stacking blocks.
- Imagination: Five levels are available, in which the toddlers train their imagination. You can do this by playing with toys, watching children's books or listening to music.
- Communication: With the help of difficult flash cards or by talking to other Sims, the toddlers can build up their communication in five levels.
- Potty training: In three levels, the little ones learn to walk on the potty. Adults can help them, independent toddlers like to try it alone.
