This page cannot be displayed - what to do?
There are many reasons for the message "This page cannot be displayed". We have summarized for you how this message is generated and when you can do something about it in this practical tip.
"This page cannot be displayed" - possible causes
There are several reasons why a page cannot be displayed:
- There is a problem with the server the website is on. This can be, for example, a temporary overload or maintenance work.
- Your computer cannot connect to the Internet
- The page you are trying to access is not available because it has been deleted or the link is broken.
- The page was blocked by the security filter in your browser.
What can you do?
Unfortunately, you can rarely do anything about it, namely only if the security filter has blocked access. In most cases, however, the filter blocks dangerous pages. If you are sure that the filter has given a false report or you trust the site, you can bypass the filter:
- Clicking "Continue Anyway" in Chrome will take you to the page you want.
- In Firefox, click "Ignore this warning" in the lower right corner to go to the page you want.
- If you are using Internet Explorer, click on "Further information" and then on "Ignore and continue".
