Install Discord on Ubuntu - how it works
Some gamers are now playing on Ubuntu, so the range of chat solutions for the system is also growing. This practical tip shows you how to install Discord on your Ubuntu computer.
Install Discord on Ubuntu - Here's how
- Open the terminal on your Ubuntu computer and use the "sudo -i" command to become a superuser. Enter your root password when asked.
- Now type in the command "apt-get update". This updates the package lists. Then enter "apt-get upgrade" to update your computer and confirm with "Y". This step is not absolutely necessary, but it does not hurt to update the operating system and all programs before a new installation.
- Now it is time to download Discord: Enter "wget -O discord.deb //discordapp.com/api/download?platform=linux&format=deb" and wait for the package to download completely.
- To install the chat program, type in "sudo dpkg -i /path/to/discord.deb". Confirm - if necessary - with the "Y" key. Once the installation is complete, type "logout" followed by "exit" into the console to close the window. Now you can use Discord.
