DisplayPort and 144 Hz monitor - you need to know that
If you use a monitor with 144 Hz, you also need the right cable - for example a DisplayPort cable. We show you what you have to consider when choosing the cable.
Connect the 144 Hz monitor to the DisplayPort
A current HDMI cable only supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz. A dual link DVI-D cable is one option for 144 Hz.
- You can also transmit the sound with a DisplayPort cable. In principle, the frequency of 144 Hz is also supported.
- However, when buying, you have to make sure that the cable really supports 144 Hz. Many cheap cables only offer 60 or 100 Hz.
- The UGREEN DisplayPort cable supports 144 Hz and costs around 10 euros.
- Tip: When buying appropriate cables, not only check the information provided by the manufacturer, but also the customer reviews. Most manufacturers do not guarantee the performance of 144 Hz.
In the next article we will show you how to connect two monitors to DisplayPort.
