There are extensive crafting opportunities in The Division. In this practical tip you can read which they are and what you need to craft them.
The Division: Notes on crafting
Crafting in The Division is intuitive, but there are some mechanics that need to be understood first.
- You will find the crafting workbench in your operations base.
- To make an item, you need a blueprint and the appropriate materials.
- Later, you can also make dark zone equipment at the crafting station. To do this, you need special blueprints that you can buy with the Tech and Phoenix Credits division.
- You get Phoenix credits from level 30 onwards from elite opponents. You can recognize them by the fact that, unlike normal opponents, they have an individual name.
- In the crafting menu, you can also convert multiple materials of a lower level to a higher quality material.
- If you want to reach level 30, you should save some materials. Because the high-end items are extremely expensive in crafting.
The Division: crafting with blueprints
To craft an item, you need a corresponding blueprint for that item.
- You can find blueprints in the game world. However, these are rarely dropped. They are more likely to be found in hidden chests.
- Alternatively, you can purchase blueprints from retailers. This is still significantly cheaper than buying the weapon directly from the dealer.
- Sometimes you also get a blueprint as a reward for a main or side mission.
- There are blueprints for weapons, gas masks, protective vests, backpacks, gloves, holsters and knee pads. In addition, you can also make some weapon and equipment modifications.
Collecting crafting materials in The Division
In addition to the blueprint, you also need materials for crafting.
- The materials you can collect are fabrics, weapon parts, tools, electronics and division tech.
- Like a weapon, every material has a quality class: ordinary, unusual, rare, epic, legendary.
- You can either collect materials in the open game world or collect them in your own base for upgrades.
- If you disassemble an unnecessary weapon, you no longer need space in the inventory and you can gain valuable resources. You can also convert them into higher quality materials.
