Divx doesn't recognize audio - what can you do?
Certain codecs are required so that Divx can not only decode the video track, but also deliver the associated sound. Before you install these, however, there are a few points to consider:
- Download the current Divx Plus Codec Pack to your computer.
- Put a restore point on your PC for security. If something goes wrong during installation, you can use it to reset the system to the previously stable state.
- Be sure to uninstall any codecs that are already installed before installing the new pack.
- In addition, do not install all codecs, only those that you really need.
- A good and safe alternative is the free GSpot tool. The small program analyzes which codecs are missing for video and audio problems. You can then download them specifically from the Internet.
Of course you can also turn your back on Divx. Read another practical tip to find out which alternatives to the Divx web player exist.
