Cancel DKV health insurance - how it works
In order to cancel your DKV health insurance, you must comply with legal requirements and deadlines. Read here when you can terminate the contract.
Canceling DKV health insurance: only possible with follow-up insurance
A general health insurance obligation applies in Germany.
- If you want to cancel your health insurance, you must first take out new insurance with another provider. This must be linked to the insurance of the DKV.
- You must provide proof of follow-up insurance to the DKV in writing within the notice period.
- The insurance contract is initially concluded over two years. Health insurance is always extended for another year if there is no cancellation.
- You can cancel the insurance in writing at the end of each insurance year, at the earliest at the end of an agreed term, with a notice period of three months.
End the contract with a subscription alert
By submitting a subscription alert, you terminate your insurance in a legally secure manner.
- Enter all important data about yourself and the insurance company in the fields of the template.
- Then send the cancellation with one click directly via subscription alert. For this you pay either 3.49 euros or 4.49 euros.
- If you change an existing DSL, mobile phone, electricity contract or car insurance via Verivox within seven days, you pay nothing for the service.
- Alternatively, you can print out the letter and send it yourself. This is also free of charge.
- The postal address of the insurance company is already entered in the Aboalarm letter. If you would like to send the document by fax, use the number 02 21/57 86 00 0.
