Open DMP file - Here's how
If your computer crashes and shows a blue screen beforehand, the cause is saved in a DMP file. This practical tip shows you how to open it.
BlueScreenView: Open DMP file after PC crash
- If you install the free tool BlueScreenView, all available DMP files are automatically displayed after the start.
- If you removed the DMP file from its original location, it probably won't appear in the program. In this case, simply drag the DMP file into the window.
- If you select the desired DMP file, the processes involved are displayed. After a Google search, you’re usually smarter.
WhoCrashed: Open DMP file
- The WhoCrashed software is also free and quick to install. Inexperienced users in particular are better served here.
- In order for WhoCrashed to read the DMP files, you must not remove them from the path "C: \ WINDOWS \ Minidump".
- Simply click on the "Analyze" button at the top left and all available DMP files will be evaluated.
- You will now receive understandable information about the culpable processes or drivers.
