Delete documents from iCloud - so it'll work
You can delete documents from your iCloud, for example to make space for the backups of other apps. We'll show you how.
iPhone and iPad: delete documents from iCloud
- Open the "Settings" of your iOS device and navigate to the "iCloud" item.
- Tap "Storage & Backup" and then select "Manage Storage".
- Your "Documents & Data" is now displayed below your backups. Select an app whose data you want to delete from your iCloud by tapping on its entry.
- Now either drag a single entry to the left and press "Delete" to remove the data. Or select "Edit" at the top right and then "Delete all" to remove all entries in the app from iCloud. In both cases, confirm your selection by clicking on "Delete" or "Delete all".
Delete iCloud documents using the iCloud Control Panel
Alternatively, you can also access your iCloud from your PC to delete the backups of your apps. You need the iCloud Control Panel:
- Install the Control Panel and start the iCloud Control Panel. To do this, right-click on the iCloud icon in the Windows status bar and select "Open Control Panel iCloud".
- Log in to iCloud with your Apple ID and password.
- Then click on "Manage" on the right side.
- The left column now shows your backups and apps that have backed up documents or data in iCloud. Select an app with one click and mark the entry you want to delete.
- Click "Delete" and confirm by clicking "Delete" again. Alternatively, select "Delete all" to remove all entries in the app from your iCloud. Here too you confirm by clicking on "Delete".
