Don't Starve: How to survive winter
In this practical tip we will tell you everything about winter in the survival game "Don't Starve". From the 21st day it gets cold and if you are poorly prepared you will not survive the winter.
Winter is coming
There are only two seasons in "Don't Starve": summer and winter. While you "only" have to fear starvation and dangerous creatures in summer, you should dress warmly in winter.
- Winter begins on the 21st day and lasts for 15 days.
- The temperature drops to a minimum in winter and nights last longer.
- If you stay unprotected in the cold for too long, you will lose life points. Torches do not give you warmth and freeze after a while.
- New creatures appear, such as mountain hares, snow birds and blue dogs. Penguins and walruses are also making life difficult for you.
- The plants on your farm grow 25% slower.
How to survive winter
To survive the 15 days of cold, it is advisable to take certain precautions beforehand.
- Collect enough wood and food in the summer.
- Campfires help you not to freeze to death. A heat stone that can be found in the wild also keeps you warm for a while.
- If you have the character Wilson you can grow your beard. The longer it is, the warmer it will keep you. Clothing also keeps you warm.
- Berries and other plants grow more slowly. So go hunting for meat.
- Plant bushes and trees near your base so you don't have to walk too far through the wilderness should you ever need anything.
You have 21 days to prepare for winter. Use this time and you will survive the cold season. You can find more tips on Don't Starve here.
