Don't Starve Together is a survival game that you can discover with many other players. We show you the best tips for survival.
How to survive in Don't Starve Together
- As the name suggests, you mustn't starve. So you always have to take care of food. The easiest option at the beginning is the berry bushes and carrots that are in the ground. You can either eat them raw or prepare them over a fire.
- On your discovery tour you collect grass and twigs throughout. You can use these materials to make a torch for nightly tours.
- Another important resource besides food, grass and branches are flints. With these you can build an ax or a pickaxe. However, you should first only build an ax, because you can make a first campfire with the wood obtained from trees.
- Of course, the further you get in the game, the more you can craft. Therefore, think carefully with your playmates about who collects which resources and who builds which machine from them. This will prevent things from being collected twice.
- In addition to the two machines, you should also consider a crockpot. In this you can cook and make monster meat edible. A piece of meat and three filling materials (carrots and berries, for example) turn into delicious meatballs that are perfect for eating.
These resources should be close to the base
Other resources that should be as close to the base as possible are bees, spiders, pigs and a few ponds.
- At the beginning, orientation is the most important thing. So think of a strategy for it. We recommend that you first find the edge of the map and then walk along the edge. This gives you a better overview of where resources can be found, for example spiders in forests or bison in steppes. This helps to find a place for the base.
- You should set up your base in a place where you are central to many different areas. Ideally, bison are also nearby, because with their faeces you can build farms that you will need as an important source of food in winter.
- You can also shave the bison at night, so you can get their wool with which to make winter clothes.
- Be careful not to camp too close to the bison as they also have an aggressive mating phase. This turns the buttocks red and they start attacking everything that comes close to them. So bring enough space between you and the bison.
- Spiders are also important because of the silk. With this you can build fishing, bird traps or make clothes.
- If there are no berry bushes near the base, you can dig out further away with a shovel and provide a large area of your base with your own garden. After planting again, the bushes must be re-fertilized so that they bear fruit again.
- Make sure that you also dig up trees, grass and branches and set them up at your base so that you don't have to walk long distances to reach these resources in winter.
