Find duplicate songs in the iTunes library
If you want to tidy up your iTunes library, you can find duplicate songs using an integrated function. We'll show you how it's done.
iTunes: Find duplicate songs in the media library
- Start iTunes and simultaneously press the "Ctrl" + "B" keys. The menu bar then opens at the top.
- There, click on "Display" and select the option "Show duplicate objects".
- All songs with the same name are now displayed. At the top of the window, you can also filter the songs using the "All" and "Same album" options.
- You can now delete all duplicates. However, make sure that not every song with the same name is a duplicate. Duplicate tracks can also come from two different albums or from different artists.
This practical tip shows you how to make a backup copy of your iTunes library.
