Surprisingly, one of the past winning teams failed to qualify for The International 2015. The Swedish clan alliance is not on the list of participants for the first time this year.
- The two Chinese clans Invictus Gaming and Newbee were unconditionally invited to participate.

- For the first time there is a public qualification round in which uninvited teams and amateurs can take part. These have the opportunity to qualify for the main tournament in the subsequent "Regional Qualifiers". Before that, however, you will be taken to the "Wild Card" decision, in which four teams from the "Regional Qualifiers" can secure a place for the main tournament.
