Set up wireless HDMI connection - how it works
Cable ducts in the living room are not really nice. If you set up a wireless connection for your HDMI devices, you can banish the cheap plastic cables from your room. We show you which devices you can use to establish a wireless HDMI connection.
Wireless HDMI - the right adapters
For the wireless transmission of a FullHD picture you need special adapters, which you connect to the video input and output of your devices. The two adapters then establish a connection and transmit the video and audio signal without delay. However, the range of these adapters is very limited - and the prices are very high.
- The "Aten VE809" adapter kit costs around 200 euros on Amazon. The signal can be transmitted at a distance of 30 meters. 3D and Dolby 5.1 audio are also supported.
- The HDMI kit is a little cheaper - the set offered costs 180 euros. To do this, the transmission only works at a distance of 10 meters.
- With the "PureLink" adapter set, you can determine yourself which radio distance you want to bridge. There is a 10m transmission (199 euros), 20m transmission (approx. 220 euros) and a 30m transmission for 250 euros. This kit also supports 3D FullHD transmissions.
Set up HDMI radio adapter - how it works
Each adapter kit consists of a transmitter and a receiver box. The transmitter box is usually in the form of a USB stick so that you can simply plug the transmitter into your PC or BlueRay player.
- Connect the two adapters to your TV sets and - if necessary - to the corresponding power supply. When positioning the boxes, you should make sure that the connection is as free as possible. Walls interfere with the video signal as well as bulky furniture and limit the range.
- Now all you have to do is switch on the two adapters. The video signal should now be transmitted in full quality without cables.
