Blocking third-party providers makes sense, because advertising is often built into free apps on smartphones in particular. If you accidentally click on the banners, you may already have accidentally stumbled into a subscription trap. It is therefore advisable to block the third party providers:
- To do this, you must contact your provider. According to the law passed on May 10th, 2012, they are obliged to set up a third-party lock upon request.
- It is best to go to your mobile operator's shop and have the option blocked there.
- Alternatively, call the hotline and block third-party providers there.
- At Deutsche Telekom, you can block third-party providers under service number 2202. You must contact Vodafone using speed dial 1212. With O2 you can set up a third-party lock under 55222. You have to call E-Plus at 1000.
