Printer prints pale - you can do that
If your printer only prints out pale, it may be due to clogged nozzles. Most devices can fix this problem themselves. You can find further causes and the appropriate troubleshooting in this practical tip.
Printer prints pale - what to do?
This problem can often be caused by clogged cartridge nozzles.
- Therefore, open your printer and take out a cartridge as a test. Gently slide them over a kitchen towel. If there is no discoloration, you should carefully clean the cartridge with a cotton swab.
- After you have cleaned all cartridges and put them back in the printer, you have to do a "print head cleaning" via the settings. After that, the error should not occur again.
- Via the "Control Panel"> "Devices and Printers"> right-click on the respective printer> "Properties" you can adjust the print quality in the "Quality" tab. With higher quality, the print takes longer, but it also gets better.
- You can also try to select a different paper type in the settings there. This enables you to test whether there is a defect.
Ink cartridges dried out: printer prints pale
The ink cartridges may also have dried out because they have not printed for a long time.
- Therefore, take a look at the level of the cartridges on the device in the settings.
- If it is very low or is described as having an error, you should replace the ink cartridges.
- If you cannot fix the error using these methods, the defect may be more serious and you should take the printer for repair.
