Printer prints wrong - you can do that
If your printer suddenly prints skewed, this can indicate an error in handling the paper. In our practical tip we will tell you what you can do about it.
Printer prints wrong - what to do?
- Take a look inside the printer and check whether dust and dirt has settled here. You may also find remnants of paper here.
- The paper feeder should also be free of dirt so that the paper sits correctly and can be fed.
- In some cases, the feed rollers may be defective or dirty. Therefore, check whether they are working properly.
- Note that the amount of paper can also be important. Slowly find the right amount by always adding a little more paper to the feeder.
- To avoid problems, you should use normal A4 copy paper. Other papers may be thicker and therefore cannot be fed properly.
Other tips: Printer prints crooked
- Most printers allow you to set the paper size on the feeder. The paper is just being clamped and drawn in. You should also make sure that the paper tray is attached correctly.
- Also check the printer settings. You may have made changes at the edge here. Most settings can be reset at the push of a button.
- In some cases, the printhead is skewed. So take a look inside the printer to avoid this.
- Generally, you need to make sure you have the latest printer driver installed. You can obtain this via Windows Update or from the manufacturer's website.
