Printers: use replacement cartridges - is that possible?
If you buy a replacement cartridge for the ink printer that is not original, you will save a lot of money in the long run. It is best to choose your printer in advance according to the range of inexpensive replacement cartridges.
Inexpensive replacement cartridges for your ink printer
Inkjet printers are often particularly cheap, the cartridges for the devices are all the more expensive. This is remedied by replacement cartridges. But this foreign ink is of course a thorn in the side of printer manufacturers.
- That is why almost all manufacturers have now provided their cartridges with chips, so that filling up with their own ink is not possible in most cases: the chips register the ink level and if the cartridges are empty, the chip must be reset electronically.
- Replacement cartridges from second-party manufacturers are an alternative. It is therefore worthwhile to check whether and at what price you can get replacement cartridges before you buy the printer. If in doubt, you should rather pay a few euros more for the printer and later save on cheap cartridges.
- The print head is also an important criterion: if the print head is integrated directly into the printer, so-called ink tanks are placed on it. In the second variant, the print head is located directly on the cartridge. Here the cartridges are filled and worn out several times.
- Conclusion: The cheapest way to get away is usually with a printer that has the printhead integrated in the printer and from which there is a larger selection of replacement cartridges from second-party suppliers. Incidentally, the foreign ink performed particularly well at Stiftung Warentest.
