Printer ink is peeling off - that's why
If the print color peels off in your printouts, it is mostly due to the paper. In this tip, we explain exactly what you need to pay attention to here.
Printer ink is peeling off the paper - choose thicker paper
It is very likely that your paper is just too thin.
- Copy paper with a grammage of 80 g / m² is ideal for printing text.
- However, if you print images with a large color print, the paper may be too thin.
- For such prints, a paper especially for color prints is recommended.
- So-called color laser paper with a grammage of 120 g / m² is the better choice here.
Lower printer quality in the settings
In the device settings for your printer, you can very often specify the general print quality of your printer.
- You make this setting using a setting program or remote setup program.
- For example, for Brother printers there is the "Control Center" software, currently version 4.0.
- Here you can set the "Print Quality" via the "Device Settings" tab and "Remote Setup Program" under "Photo".
- Very often the best "photo" quality is preselected here. If printer color is peeling off during printing or if you want to save ink, change this setting to "Normal".
