Share the printer with certain users only
You can easily share a printer with certain users over the network. You can find the exact procedure in these practical tips.
Set up print sharing on the network
First you have to set up printer sharing via the Control Panel:
- Open the Control Panel and go to the "Network and Sharing Center".
- Select the "Advanced Sharing" option on the left.
- Click the down arrow here to expand the current network profile.
- Now you have to select the "Activate file and printer sharing" option under "File and printer sharing" so that the printer can be shared on the network (see picture).
- Save with a click on "Save changes".
Printer: Share specific users
- Click "Start" and select "Devices and Printers".
- Right-click the printer you want to share and choose Properties.
- Then switch to the "Security" tab.
- Here you can add users with whom you want to share the printer with a click on "Add".
