Find printer drivers - how it works
If your computer does not automatically recognize the printer, you must install the correct printer driver yourself. We show you exactly where you can find this in this practical tip for the most common manufacturers.
How to find the right printer driver
- Brother: For a Brother printer you will find the printer driver here. All you have to do is enter the model name in the search field. You can find the driver in the overview under "Downloads".
- Lexmark: With a device from Lexmark you get the right driver here. Attention: After entering the model type, you can choose from previous versions as well as the current drivers.
- Samsung: To get the right Samsung driver, you can search for a specific printer here or approach your model based on categories and subcategories such as "photo printer" and "color laser".
- HP: As a customer of a Hewlett Packard printer, you can search here for both the product name and the product number (for example "A809A"). You can find this on a sticker on your printer.
- Dell: The Dell printer usually has a barcode sticker with a "service tag". This consists of five to seven numbers and letters, which you must enter here. Alternatively, you can have the service tag determined automatically or select your printer from a list.
- Canon: In the Canon Download Center you will see drivers and various additional software immediately after entering the model number.
- Xerox: You can either select your Xerox printer here by entering the product name or search from a list of all Xerox printers. Here you will find the driver by clicking on "Driver and Downloads".
- Konica Minolta: You can download the drivers and various additional software here. To do this, you can enter the model or serial number or use categories to find the right printer. With one click you are already at the driver.
To select the correct driver, you need to specify the version of your operating system. Here you can find out where to read them.
