DSL, hard disk and Co: calculate data throughput
With the right tools, you don't need to calculate your data throughput yourself. The data throughput indicates the actually transmitted transmission rate per time of a network. Only the pure user data are taken into account here. We'll show you how to calculate your data throughput with an online service.
How to calculate your data throughput
The quickest and easiest is the calculation with an online calculator, which takes over the calculation of the data throughput for you. You only need to feed this with "data":
- Call up the online data throughput calculator.
- Do you want z. B. Calculate your bandwidth and thus your effective internet speed, enter z in the first field. B. 16000 and as a unit "kbit / second" if you have a 16000 DSL connection.
- In the field behind the "=", select "Megabyte / MB / second".
- The calculator automatically shows you the time required for the download at maximum speed.
- Conveniently, the calculator also shows you the size of the different units.
- You can feed the computer with any data throughput rates. You can z. B. also convert the write speed of your hard disk. To do this, simply add the speed of your hard disk with the appropriate unit under point 2.
In another practical tip, we will show you how you can test hard drive speed with Windows.
