Build DVBC cable yourself - how it works
You can easily build DVBC cables yourself in any length. We explain how to do it.
You need that for DVBC cable construction
To build a DVBC cable, you need the right cables, connectors and tools:
- For DVBC cables you need a pair of male and female F-connectors. These are available from Amazon for around 1.50 euros.
- As a cable you can use old antenna cables or order coaxial cables by the meter, for example for 1.50 euros per meter from Amazon.
- To shorten the cable and to strip the wires, you need either a knife or side cutters and wire strippers.
- The cable is fixed in F-plugs with a screw. Therefore, you need a precision pen, usually with a cross recess.
- For heavily used plugs, you can fix the connection with a soldering iron and solder.
Build DVBC cable yourself
In the following steps you can build a DVBC cable yourself by clamping the cable wires in the connector. So that the connection is really tight, it is best to solder the cable and connector together. In the picture gallery we show you in detail how and explain the structure of the connector in detail.
- Slide the grommet of the F-connector over the coaxial cable.
- Strip the outer wire two centimeters and bundle the wire mesh.
- Strip half a centimeter of the inner wire.
- Unscrew the screw of the F connector almost completely.
- Insert the inner wire into the F connector and screw it tight (a).
- Clamp the outer wire bundle between the insulation and the outer conductor of the F-connector (b).
- Close the spout tightly.
- Cut the cable to the length you need and attach the second F connector at the other end as described.
