DVD player is humming - it could be because of that
If your DVD player is humming or making strange noises, you can control to a certain point what is the reason.
Option 1 - The DVD hums, squeaks or grinds
The inserted DVD may be responsible for the hum.
- Are there clearly visible scratches on the back of the DVD (reading side)? Then this may be the reason why your DVD player is so loud. He tries to read the DVD, but fails because the scratches have lost data on the DVD.
- The DVD can have an imbalance, for example due to incorrect printing. This can also result in a hum or strange noise, since the DVD cannot be read properly.
- It is best to try another DVD to see if your player is still buzzing. If not, it is almost certainly due to the DVD.
Option 2 - The DVD player hums and makes noises
Of course, the DVD player can also be the culprit.
- The DVD player may be dirty. Check whether the drive for the DVD is free of dust or other dirt and test clean the air slots of the device with a cloth.
- In some cases, the DVD player does not recognize the format of the DVD. The DVD player then constantly searches for a source that it cannot find. If the DVD is playing and you see a picture, this should not be the case.
- You cannot detect a technical defect from the outside. Possibly. a component is damaged. It only helps if you buy a new device or have the player repaired.
