Create email aliases in Gmail - Here's how
With GMail, you can create aliases to display emails that have been sent to different email addresses in an inbox. This is easily done via the settings.
Link inboxes in Gmail
In order to link the inboxes of several email addresses, you have to go to the settings of your Gmail account:
- Log in to Gmail.
- Click on the gear in the top right corner and select "Settings".
- Select the "Accounts" tab.
- Go to "Add another email address" in the "Send As" tab.
- In the dialog that appears, enter the email address you want to link to your Gmail inbox. Mails that are sent to the specified email address will then also arrive in your Gmail mailbox.
- Make sure that the "Treat as alias" checkbox is activated.
- Click on "Next step"
- Specify whether you want to use the outgoing Gmail server or that of the other address. If you use that of the other address, you have to enter the appropriate data. Setting up via the Gmai server is therefore easier.
- In the last step, click on the "Send confirmation" button. An email will then be sent to the email address provided to ensure that you also own the address.
