Snooze email in Gmail: Here's how
With Snooze, Gmail presents a new function for your email inbox. In this practical tip, we show you what the feature can do and how to activate it.
New Gmail with new tricks
The new Gmail, as Google simply calls it, not only looks good, but also provides useful information: You can now snooze emails, "put on hold" in German.
- With the snooze function, e-mails can be "pushed back" with just a few clicks without losing the overview.
- As with an alarm clock, mails can be postponed and sent again at a later time.
- This function is useful for messages that you do not want to deal with immediately, or for invoices that are due in a few weeks.
- Simply set the desired date and the mail is initially slumbered.
- If you want to wake up your mail earlier than planned, you can find it in the mailbox under "Reset".
How to activate the snooze function
With just a few clicks you can activate this practical feature.
- If you have not yet set up the new Gmail, you have to start it first: At the top right of the picture you will find a gear, the "Settings" button.
- With "Test the new Gmail" the update starts automatically and after a few moments you can choose from 3 layouts.
- If you now open an email, you will have some familiar buttons above the message, such as the trash can for "delete" or the stop sign for "report spam".
- The clock for "reset" is new in the series. If you click on it, a window opens with ready-made times. You can also choose the date and time yourself.
- Click on save, the message disappears and you will receive the deferred email at the desired date.
