If you would also like to perform an e-mail move when changing the domain, only a few clicks are required. In this practical tip, we will show you how to do this.
E-Mail relocation - How to change the provider
- First set up your email account in Outlook. Instructions on how to do this can be found in our section.
- You can find out exactly which data you need to provide from your respective provider.
- If you have successfully set up the account, wait until all the emails have been checked.
- Now click on "File"> "Options" in Outlook and select "Advanced" on the left.
- Then select the "Export" button and finally "Export to file".
- Now set up your new email address in Outlook and then open Outlook Settings> "Advanced" again.
- Click on "Export" again and select "Import from other programs or files". Now you have to select the file you just saved.
- At your old address, you can then save a vacation note with your new email address.
- Alternatively, you have the option of setting up forwarding. We'll show you how to do this at the major providers: Hotmail, T-Online & GMX.
Professional domain change: E-mail move - so it'll work
- If you have not yet secured the new domain, inform the respective host about your interest or buy the domain directly.
- Contact your current provider by email, post or fax and indicate that you want to cancel your domain. Also ask for the so-called auth code.
- Before proceeding, check with your old provider for an email moving service. If you cannot find one, indicate in the notice that you want to move the email.
- When registering the new domain, you must now enter the so-called auth code to ensure that this is also your correct domain.
- If your provider does not offer a moving service, you can use Audriga's offer.
- Simply enter your provider on the website and follow the instructions - the move is free.
