Easybox as a WiFi router - how it works
If you would like to use the Vodafone Easybox as a WLAN router in addition to an existing DSL modem, we will show you how to do this in this practical tip.
Set up Easybox as a WLAN router
To use the Easybox as a pure WLAN router, please proceed as follows:
- Log into the administration interface by entering "easy.box" in your browser.
- If you have not already done so, switch on the WLAN of the router under "WLAN" and then "WLAN function on".
- To avoid overlaps, select any radio channel under "WLAN" and then "Settings". Make a note of the name of the WLAN and the associated password. This will be needed in the later process.
- Now turn to the other DLS router. Log in to the administration interface and switch to the WLAN settings. Select the same radio channel that you have already selected with the Easybox and enter the name and password of the WLAN here.
- Switch to the wireless settings and switch on the "WDS" option. Then select the router with the appropriate WLAN name that you had previously set.
- Next you have to change the IP address under "LAN". Enter the IP "192.168.3.55" and the host name "easy.box2". You must also edit the DHCP server parameters manually. Enter the range from "192.168.3.100" to "192.168.3.199" so that both routers can communicate.
- Turn to the Easybox and activate the WDS function here. Also select the router with the respective name and apply your settings.
- Finally, you should restart both devices for the changes and settings to take effect. Then connect the Easybox via LAN and connect to the network.
Here we explain what you can do if the login to your Easybox no longer works.
