eBay: seller does not deliver - what to do?
If a seller does not deliver on eBay, you can solve the problem privately, with the help of eBay and in court. We'll show you how it's done.
eBay seller doesn't deliver - you can do that
By concluding the purchase contract, the seller is obliged to deliver the goods to you in accordance with Section 433 (1) BGB. You can contact the seller directly on eBay and, if in doubt, get help from eBay:
- Open the eBay website and under "My eBay" click on the "Overview of your purchases" on the left.
- To the right of the product you will find the "Clarify problem" option under "More Actions".
- You can use the "I did not receive my item" option to contact the seller in writing. Set a reasonable time limit within which you want to receive the item.
- If no agreement was found after 10 days, the case will be transferred to eBay. In most cases, however, it does not go that far because the sellers are afraid of being blocked or deleted and are therefore cooperative.
eBay: If the seller does not want to deliver
- If the problem was not solved by eBay itself, you can take legal action. Here, however, you should carefully consider whether the effort is worthwhile - especially financially.
- Put an ultimatum in writing for the seller. So that you can prove your actions in case of doubt, we always recommend a registered letter with return receipt or a registered letter.
- Of course, if you only want your money back, you can do so. You should also enter a deadline and your account or PayPal data here.
- If you have the right clearly on your side, warn of further legal steps and, if necessary, hire a lawyer.
