Change eBook cover - how it works
With the appropriate tools you can change the cover of eBooks. You can find out how this works in this article.
Switch eBook covers with Caliber
Manage your eBook collection with the free "Caliber" program. Caliber can handle numerous formats and runs on Linux, Mac and Windows. You can download the eBook cover directly in the program.
- After installation, choose a path for your eBooks. All imported books are saved there.
- Under "Add books" you import your eBook into the Caliber library. Then select an eBook and click on "Edit metadata" in the menu bar. In the "Edit cover image" area, there are now several options for changing the eBook cover.
- With "Browse" you can either use your own image as a cover or search for suitable images on the Internet. To do this, go to "Download cover image". By default, the program searches four portals for metadata. The prerequisite is that all metadata for the book is stored. You can expand the portals in the settings next to "Download metadata". With "Create cover picture" you get a book cover with the text of the first page. If you have found a suitable cover, you can cut it directly in the program.
- The last thing you need to do is convert the eBook so that the new cover is saved to the file. To do this, click on "Convert books" in the menu bar. In the following window you can make further settings, including the output format or the layout.
